Everton Chief Executive, Mr. Keith Wyness launched the “Everton in Ireland” initiative on Tuesday the 23rd January 2007 in the SPA Hotel in Lucan, announcing the link-up with little unknown football club Ballyoulster AFC based in Celbridge. This is really a Cinderella story in the making in that Ballyoulster would be basically unknown in Irish football to-date.

Everton CEO Mr. Keith Wyness was accompanied by former Republic of Ireland legend Kevin Sheedy and present day Ireland midfield dynamo Lee Carsley as part of the launch.

The Children’s Hospital in Crumlin benefitted from the night with the Irish Toffees (Everton Supporters Club) presenting them with a cheque for €2007 and Everton guests Kevin Sheedy and Lee Carsley presenting signed Everton and Republic of Ireland football shirts for a fund raiser.
